Privacy Policy

This policy describes what personal data Prashnavatika ("we", "us") collects, why, how long we keep it, and your rights. We collect the minimum needed to deliver the service.

1. What we collect

• Contact: your WhatsApp phone number (and profile name as shared by WhatsApp).
• Birth details: date, time, and place of birth, and gender — required to compute your chart.
• Your question and chat messages exchanged with the service.
• Payment metadata: payment ID, amount, status, and timestamps from our payment processor (Razorpay). We never receive or store your card, UPI, or bank credentials.
• Technical logs needed to operate the service reliably. Phone numbers are stored in hashed form in operational logs.

2. How we use it

• To compute your Vedic birth chart and generate your reading.
• To deliver reports and conduct the Q&A session in your chat.
• To process payments, upgrades, and refunds, and to issue invoices.
• To handle support requests and complaints (a support review of your session transcript happens only when you raise an issue, and every such access is audit-logged).
• To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

3. How long we keep it

• Paid session transcripts: retained for 180 days after the session (this covers the payment-dispute window), then purged.
• Free-tier transcripts: retained for 30 days, then purged.
• Payment records: retained as required by Indian tax and accounting law.
• The report and kundli PDFs delivered to you are your copies to keep — deletion on our side does not affect them.

4. Who we share it with

• Meta (WhatsApp): messages necessarily transit WhatsApp's infrastructure, per WhatsApp's own architecture and policies.
• Razorpay: processes your payment; sees payment details, never your chart or consultation content.
• AI inference providers: receive your computed chart data and question to generate the interpretation — not your phone number.
• Cloud infrastructure providers that host the service.

We share only what each provider needs to perform its function. We do not share your data with anyone else except where required by law.

5. Your rights

• Access: ask us what data we hold about you.
• Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate data (e.g., a wrong birth time).
• Deletion: ask us to delete your personal data and transcripts ahead of the retention schedule. We will action deletion requests within 7 days, except records we must retain by law (e.g., payment records).

6. Security

Data is stored on access-controlled cloud infrastructure. Operational logs use hashed phone numbers. Support access to transcripts is restricted, complaint-triggered, and audit-logged.

7. Children

The service is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors; if you believe a minor has used the service, contact us and we will delete the data.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; changes take effect when posted here with a revised date.
